The Red & White Wrist Band

okay... Erm...

Friday : We had our Buddhist Society meeting and it was one of the meetings which have really taught me something new. Pn. Ng, our teacher advisor was there with us and she explained to us about a red and white wrist band which serves as an self-indicator. The wrist band turns red when we are shrouded with anger, jealousy, hatred, greed, demise and any other negative influences. However, it turns white with the presence of love, care, kindness, warmth and all other positive influences especially zen, awareness and holy. There are 4 phases or stages that we have to go through.

  1. The first stage, the phase where an individual meets conflicts. We always face problems everyday and this will cause extreme injury to our soul or mentality thus creating tension or pressure.
  2. The second stage, the phase where an individual learns to be aware of the conflicts. By being aware, we can see things in all directions and analyze it. We can actually reflect on our own actions and that will help guide us to a better path in life.
  3. The third stage, the phase where an individual requires support and care from others; their family, friends and teachers. This is the stage where we are most vulnerable to negative influences as the slightest breakdown will bring us back to the first phase again. Therefore, in this stage, we should always acquire the help of everyone no matter how minimal or maximal it may be.
  4. The fourth stage, the final phase where an individual represents a form of complete zen or also referred to as angelic. This phase is the hardest to accomplish and it will require enourmous confidence as individuals in this stage are never prone to provocations, never blame other people for any type of fault and never cause conflicts.
This is what we did in the meeting:
  • We sat in a circle (since the start of the meeting)
  • Pn. Ng have us hold up our right hand, including her own's parallel(horizontally) to the ground
  • We started with a person who expresses his problems as well as which stage of the red and white wrist band
  • This process goes round a circle
  • Everyone expressed their problems and explained that they are in what stage and why.
  • After a full circle, we put our hands down slowly
There is a purpose for this activity, it is to teach us to let go of all the conflicts in our life such that we do not overpressure ourselves and hurt ourselves in the process. We can be calm when we are facing a problem. The explanations for carrying up and holding the hand until everyone has expressed their views are:
  • Every burden we add to our own, it brings more and more pain
  • At first, it may seem easy to just hold our hands up but it's not so later because we have to complete a circle before we can release our hands
  • Also, when the person is talking, he does not feel pain, because his mind is occupied with what to say thus the pain from the hand is gone
  • However, after the person has finished talking, the pain suddenly recovers back and the person is able to feel it again while the others are talking
  • Let's not forget that we are human beings and we are not perfect. When we hold up our hands, we feel the pain and we have to wait for everyone to express their views before we can release our hands. This will actually cause certain individual to think in their mind, "Why can't they speak faster? I'm tired of holding my hand up. It's painful!! Talk faster!". When this occurs, we are actually putting the blame on our friends for the pain we are receiving. This is one of the negative practices we should try to avoid.
  • When we are at a stage where we are aware, we can see that this is actually not anyone's fault. We always think that no matter how painful it is, we can bear it for the sake of our friends or loved ones.
Okay... That's all... Hope you guys learn something new from this too...

Story of the Four Candles.

This was included in the "Pecah Bendungan Ceramah" for Kursus Kepimpinan 2009.

The Four Candles burned slowly.
Their ambiance was so soft you could hear them speak...

The first candle said, "I Am Peace, but these days, nobody wants to keep me lit."
Then Peace's flame slowly diminished and went out completely.

The second candle said, "I Am Faith, but these days, I am no longer indispensable."
Then Faith's flame slowly diminished and went out completely.

Sadly the third candle spoke, "I Am Love and I haven't the strength to stay lit any longer."
"People put me aside and don't understand my importance.

They even forget to love those who are nearest to them."
And waiting no longer, Love went out completely.

Suddenly...

A child entered the room and saw the three candles no longer burning.

The child began to cry,

"Why are you not burning? You are supposed to stay lit until the end."

Then the Fourth Candle spoke gently to the little boy,

"Don't be afraid, for I Am Hope, and while I still burn,

we can re-light the other candles."

With shining eyes, the child took the Candle of Hope

and lit the other three candles.

Never let the Flame of Hope go out.

With Hope in your life, no matter how bad things may be,

Peace, Faith and Love may shine brightly once again.

Kursus Kepimpinan 2009

Hehex... So lucky to have to be given the opportunity to go...
It's a 10 hour course at Kolej Segi, Pulau Indah altho the island not so "indah" alrdy.
Anywayz... Besides just me, I was accompanied by my friends, Nicholas Yeo, Siddeeqh and Murugan..
As this was part of the guru bimbingan dan kaunseling counsel of ppd klang, Pn Lim was the teacher advisor who sent us to the college from school.
We took off at about 7.35a.m and reached the desolated place 25 minutes later. We stumbled upon what looked like the training center of Segi Kolej along with ACS and Dato Hamzah cars parked at the left and right of us... We went out to have a look but then soon found out that we're not really that close to our destination... It's two blocks away from where we are, LOL... This place is like a dead zone as commented by Michael until most of the penceramah and teachers also comment on it.. Hahax.. Pulau Indah!! Where is your indahness~?
So, we got to the CoRrEcT place this time which is called Blok A but still had to wait a few minutes because the door weren't open yet. 10 to 15 minutes later, technically 8.15a.m, the doors were opened and we got in while busying ourselves filling the forms to sign in... After everything has been settled, we were required to walk to the same block where Pn Lim first parked her car which was 2 blocks away from where we were also known as Blok C... We did some short stretching and walked back to Blok A again...
We settled down in our chairs and our first ceramah entitled "Pecah Bendungan" by En. Ustaz Ahmad. His speech was seriously wacky and really got us in the mood for fun. His speech is more like a starting speech and as we were behind schedule, he quickly finished it off with 2 slide presentations which got us all laughing and a song entitled "Teman Sejati" which we all sang together.

After that, we had our breakfast of fried noodles and nescafe although i didnt drink the nescafe. If im not wrong, the noodle muz have been overdosed by 'aji no moto' seasoning >_<" really really strong taste... We ate in the same room where we had our ceramah just now. After breakfast, it was time for "Pengurusan Organisasi" ceramah by Pn. Ruhana. She's a really truthful penceramah who is always frank to anybody. No lies. Only truths that quite hurt at some time. Luckily i wasn't her object to blast truths at .. lol... >_<" She started off her speech by a burping activity which all of us have to fake out a burp and say "excuse me".. LOL... and she continued by conducting two songs which were quite simliar in intonation.

"Perut saya bulat,
Bulat perut saya,
Jika tidak bulat,
Bukan perut saya."

"Saya suka senyum,
Senyum saya comel,
Jika tidak comel,
Bukan senyum saya."

Lol.. Then she made us repeat but with a silenced word. For example, if the word is perut, then we cant say it but we still have to make the gesture. The two songs were accompanied by funny gestures. Just to add in, my perut not bulat o.. hehex.. but the penceramah said that her's is bulat so we all have to do juz like her.. hahahahhax....
Her speech basically covers everything that is vital in an organization. The organizing chairperson, the secretary, the treasurer, the AJKs and the auditor which was a new post to me.... An auditor basically controls the money transfer and everything regarding money, sort of a back-up of treasurer but more to the numbers and values+ reasons... However, he isn't involved in any of the meetings and only takes care of $$ ... Conclusion = Auditor got $_$ *money-face*... XDD
We were then split to 8 person/group. La Sallians paired up with ShahBandarians and I was elected as the chairperson while Nurul was the secretary. The others were Nicholas, Murugan, Siddeeqh, Faur, Muhammad and Wan. We were given a question and we're supposed to hold a meeting to discuss about the task.. Our job = Jamuan untuk ahli-ahli Ting. 5 who are leaving the school after SPM. Erm... so far, I've no comments about myself.. Gonna ask Nicholas tomorrow.. BUT the team was so good... Our brains are really working together and we managed to finish it in time =P
After that, we had our afternoon rest. For food, it was fried rice with a weird taste and a sweet and really really spicy chicken >_<". My hands went messy when opening the plastic... Haiz... blame the complicated knot!! The duration of the rest was 1 and a half hours which gave me and Nicholas along with Murugan some time to talk about the things happening in school while Siddeeqh and the other Malay students went for their Solat Zohor in the surau located behind Blok C which was even further from where we are... After the rest, we had "Kemahiran Membuat Keputusan" ceramah by En. Yunus. However, it's afternoon and it's my sleepiness time.. So i can't really focus on the speech... What I can notice is that he has a freaking high pitched voice along with a humourous slang.. hahahax....
Then we had "Kepimpinan dan Kemahiran Komunikasi" by Pn. Zubaidah. This session discussed about the Gold, Blue, Green and Orange personalities of human and its importance in an organization along. The importance of communication in an organization and daily life was also discussed. Same here, can't focus 100%...
Lastly, we were guided on a tour around the desolated blocks of Kolej Segi. We went to the Segi Bistro, automotive workshop, media center and finally Segi's "restaurant" where we learned how to prepare Kelabu Manga.. It's a dish with those deep-fried noodles added with young mango+chilly+shallots+cuttlefish snacks+ground peanuts+Segi's own Kelabu syrup recipe... Lol.. Curious what are the ingredients... XDD Besides that, we also learned how to prepare Mango Spring Rolls and garnish it such that it looks like its from a 5 stars(*****) diner. We were also given some Mango Spring Rolls to taste before we left. Nice but mango taste hilang.. lol .. mana pergi, saya tak tau~~ ... blekz...
Finally, we ended with the closing ceremony where certificates were given to the teacher advisors and also to the students who participated in this course.
Each student received 2 certificates, one is for participation from PPDKlang and one is for appreciation from Kolej Segi. Wee!! Incentives~~ XDD
We went back to our school at 5.00p.m. while dropping off Siddeeqh and Nicholas off nearby Bayu...
That should be all for now .. XD
